Music Quiz @TheClubhouse

The Glossop North End Clubhouse will be hosting a Music Quiz on Friday 24th of February.

The quiz starts at 8pm and will span 4 decades of music trivia. It will also make full use of the clubhouses excellent audio and visual facilities.

Entry is £1 per person, teams can have a maximum of 5 people and there will be a Gallon of beer up for the grabs.

Easter Quiz Night

The Supporters Club have arranged a Quiz Night to take place at The Friendship on Sunday April 24th. (Easter Sunday). It will be free to enter, and will be a general knowledge quiz with prizes for the winners. Many Thanks to Mike Howard for kindly staging this event and also donating the prizes.

End of Season Party

Many thanks to everyone who turned out for the Supporters Club End of Season Party on Saturday. After an initial panic when the power tripped everything went to plan and a good time seemed to be had by all.

For those who missed it the main talking points the following day were;

Where did the 'How many people can you get in the Press Box' come from?
What was it like in Steve Youngs world on Sunday morning?

We must do it again sometime.

End Of Season Party

Following the success of the Christmas event, the Supporters Club are holding an End of Season Party on Saturday May 8th. The party will again be in the clubhouse and the format will be similar to that at Chritmas. By popular demand, Andy and Woody (and you never know, maybe even Dicey) will again be providing the entertainment.
In recognition of the support shown to the supporters club in it's first season admission will be FREE to all members and only £5 for non-members.
Tickets are now available and can be collected on matchdays, starting with this Saturdays home game with Ramsbottom.
Please note: Although free, because of the limited number of people we can have at the party this event has to be all ticket and we expect the tickets to go very quickly.
Also note: This is not the clubs annual presentation night

Quiz Night At The Star

Paul at The Star has kindly allowed us to use one of his regular Quiz Nights to raise funds for the Supporters Club nominated charity which is Buxton and Glossop friends fighting MS.

The date is Sunday 28th February.

The quiz starts at 9.30 pm and consists of 40 general knowledge questions - not too tricky. All is finished before 11 pm. The arrangements about numbers in teams is quite loose, this is done so that everybody can participate either as part of a formal team or by making up teams on the night. This is a fun quiz, run by Marcus Hodkinson, and really is quite light-hearted. Just about everybody in the Star on a Sunday night participates in the quiz which is great.

All are invited to come along to the Star on February 28th, join in the fun and, at the same time, contribute to a very worthy cause.

The more the merrier.

Presentation Night 2010

This years end of season Presentation Night will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday 22nd May.
More details will be made available as we get them.

UPDATE: This date is now in doubt as it clashes with the UEFA Champions League final. More details will be announced shortly.

Charity night at The Friendship

The Friendship is holding an 80's Vinyl night on Saturday 9th January in aid of the Supporters Clubs chosen charity - Glossop & Buxton Friends Fighting MS.
The fun starts at 7.30pm so dig out your vinyl and hear it played on the live Jukebox!!
Have 1 record played for 50p, 3 records for a £1 or pay £2 to have a record taken off!!

Please note this is not a Supporters Club run event.

As a result of GNE being drawn away in the 3rd round of the Vase on the 5th of December a new date has had to be found the Supporters Club Christmas Party.

The new date is Sunday the 27th of December, the day after our game at New Mills on Boxing Day and the day before the Bank Holiday. It is still the intention to hold the event in the clubhouse and we will confirm the venue in the next 48 hours.

As well as live entertainment we will have our resident DJ and will be providing a selection of hot food.

Admittance is by ticket only and these are priced at £8 for members/£10 for non-members. They are strictly limited and can be purchased from any member of the Supporters Club Committee on matchdays.

We expect this event to sell out quickly so please get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Continuing the tradition of holding a Quiz Night during the Vase campaign, Mike Howard has organized another prior to the clubs 2nd round match with Dunston UTS. It will be held in The Friendship on Wednesday, the 11th of November and entrance to the quiz costs £10 per 4 man/woman team, which includes a hot supper and prizes for the winners.

As last year, we hope to have the Frenny decked out in GNE flags for the event. All proceeds from the quiz will go to Glossop North End via the Supporters Club so please support this event.

Due to a lack of bodies, Sundays quiz night has had to be cancelled.

The next Quiz Night has been arranged for Sunday, the 27th of September, starting at 8.00pm. It will be held in the clubhouse and the entrance fee is £10 per team of 4 (food included).
Places are limited so if you wish to enter a team, or just want to take part, contact any member of the committee or add your team to the list on the Supporters Club Noticeboard in the clubhouse.
