GNE 3 St Helens 1 (FA Cup)

Glossop progressed through to the first qualifying round of this seasons FA Cup with a hard fought win over St Helens.

Trailing 1-0 deep into injury time, Glyn Barker poked home his first goal for the club and took the game into extra time.

Alex Elliot scored with an unstoppable shot from outside the box in the 2nd half of extra time and Adam Oakes made it safe from the penalty spot shortly after.

Glossop now have a home tie against Mossley from the Evo-Stick North in the next round on Saturday, September 11th.

Great result tonight..3-1 at home to Formby!! Goals from a Dave Young free kick, Nick Allen and the impressive Sam Hind. The lads played very well...roll on the next round away at Rossington Main on Saturday 29th August.
