Today see's the current league leaders Ramsbottom United arrive at Surrey Street for what iam pleased to say is a top of the table clash.

GNE are 4 points behind our visitors with a game in hand so all to play for.

GNE will be in good spirit after their magnificent win away at Billingham Town in the f.A. Vase last Saturday but must be at their best to hopefully get a win today.

Ramsbottom will be happier after a mid week win away at AFC Blackpool which will help them get over their defeat in the Vase last Saturday away at onsett F.C

The weather today will play a big part as it is wet and windy so we will have to hope GNE adapt better than our visitors to the conditions.

May i congratulate all at Ramsbottom for their great start to the season and welcome everyone who travels with them to Surrey Street for todays game.

Good luck to Paul and the lads and hope to see a good crowd despite the weather.

away at Stone Dominoes

Today GNE travel to springbank Park the home of Sone Dominoes.

GNE will be in good spirits after a good second half in mid week which saw them take all 3 points against a good Atherton L.R side who i believe if they stay together could be a quality side in a couple of years.

GNE will have to be on there metal though as Stone Dominoes also recorded an impressive away win on Tuesday at Alsager Town.

How much would we give for back to back wins to boost the confidence of the team and to give us the supporters a lift going into a busy week of cup games.

Wednesday sees GNE at home in the Derbyshire Senior Cup against Pinxton F.C who seem to be playing well with a couple of recent 3-0 wins.

Next Saturdays sees GNE with an away trip to Billingham Town in the F.A.Vase, more to come on this game during the week as we look forward to another game in the Vase.

Good luck to Paul and the team today.

A.F.C Liverpool visit GNE

GNE will be looking to get back to winning ways today when A.F.C Liverpool visit Surrey Street.

GNE have been knocked out of a cup and got a draw away at Winsford in midweek in their last 2 games, a draw away at Winsford is a good result but we will want to get all 3 points today against our visitors.

A.F.C Liverpool are strugging in the league and we need to make sure we don't give them any encouragement in the early stages of the game and put them under pressure right from the start.

We need to try and get a run of wins to cement our place in the top end of the league and to give ourselves the platform on which to push on in the New Year.

Good luck to Paul and the team today and hope to see the GNE faithful out in force at the game.

Halloween Party

The Supporters Club's first Halloween Party was held on Sunday evening in the clubhouse. The events committee, (assisted by Woody, Shifty and Paul) spent about 4 hours transforming the clubhouse. It all kicked off about 6pm with lots of families coming along. Fun and games were had by all, you can check out Dicey's photos on the message board and see for yourself. It was nice to see people not involved in the club coming along and having a great time, (there was even a couple of Directors on hand to scare the kids a bit more). So having received large amounts of sugar the children were taken home to bed, but maybe not to sleep! A great success and the events committee would like the thank everybody who came down and supported the event and those who gave up their time to help.

October's 'Player of the Month'

It's that time again. Please cast your vote for this months 'Player of the month'. The candidates are:
Jay Gorton
Sam Hind
Darren Hamilton
Alex Elliot
Kelvin Lugsden

The poll will close on Friday evening and the presentation will hopefully be made at Saturday's home game against AFC Liverpool.
